John Mowder is 50 years an artist. He has a BA in art education and a M.A. in painting. He works in various imageries and media and believes that his art energizes him, answers questions and makes dreams real. He has painted on and about the circus for 25 years. Experience on the road informs his work with the sawdust and sequins of a fantasy, evidenced in the colors, lines and textures of his art. Wandering the world – whether the back streets of Europe or the small towns of the circus – he makes paintings of real life experience. His abstract and figurative paintings, collages and drawings are a record of a dreamscape uniquely his own. His realistic sculpture gives life to history. His work is shown on midways, and in galleries, and museums.
